The Analog Store was founded in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2005 after Alex Lok was a Service Manager at Audio Advice for 11 years. Before that, between 1977 and 1994, Alex owned a store in Connecticut performing warranty work for nearly 100 brands of consumer electronics. Even before that, between 1974 and 1977, Alex was the service manager for the Stereo Shop in Hartford, CT, a McIntosh dealer. During all these tenures, Alex received extensive trainings from McIntosh, Crown, Sony, Linn and others. Alex is trained to repair Solid State and Tube equipment, as well as turntable alignment and ElectroStatic speaker repairs. He is also involved in amplifier modifications, acoustic treatment, circuitry design and building tube amplifiers.
